Dinner with rural Indian family: This is a very interesting activity, wherein one can not only observe the culture but actually can indulge in their part of life. Dinner with a rural Indian family starts with a traditional welcome (depending upon the family background), tea, snacks, soft-drinks in the beginning. Then get ready for the main course with Rajasthani food, vegetables, salads etc. The dinner concludes with a surprise sweet dish (mostly home-made Indian style). (*** Please note since this is an ethnic experience, hence, please do not expect any kind of luxury or urban style of living. Later in the afternoon a Jeep safari to Bishnoi village: The Bishnois, a Vaishnavite sect, living in western Rajasthan on the fringe of the Thar desert, have for centuries, been conserving the flora and fauna to the extent of sacrificing their lives to protect the environment. For these nature-loving people, protection of the environment, wildlife, and plants is a part and parcel of their sacred traditions. The basic philosophy of this religion is that all living things have a right to survive and share all resources. Overnight at the Hotel.
Breakfast in the hotel. After breakfast an excursion trip to Jodhpur visiting Mehrangarh fort, Jaswant Thada.. Later drive to Udaipur, enroute visiting Ranakpur Jain temples: The Chaturmukha Jain Temple of Ranakpur In the heart of the remote and enchanting valley of the Aravallis, skirting the rivulet Maghai and enveloped in the solitude of the surrounding forest, stands, in solemn grandeur, the Chaturmukha Jain Temple of Rishabhadeva. Placed on a lofty plinth, the three-storeyed marble edifice, to which the genius of the artist has imparted exquisite artistic grace, and which his deep devotion has endowed with serene spiritual dignity is, verily, a poem in stone. Majestic yet in complete harmony with Mother Nature, in whose beautiful lap it rests, this magnificent monument of devotional architecture seems bathed in celestial bliss. The very hills around, dwarfed by its imposing bearing, appear absorbed in mute meditation, as if spell-bound. After breakfast, visit Amber Fort and Jeep ride with a guide. Amber, built by Man Singh, embodies the Rajput belief that the fort symbolizes the strength of the King. Its commanding view, sheer walls and rock face, and the curved route that leads to the palaces within, all point to concern with security and defence. Proceed for Hawa Mahal, Jantar Mantar, Albert Hall. Here you will see the Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds) with its incredible façade of balconies and pierced screens, the Jantar Mantar (the Observatory), and the City Palace Museum. In the evening, enjoy folk dances of Rajasthan while having a sumptuous dinner. Overnight at the Hotel.
Breakfast in the hotel, later drive to Agra en-route visiting Fatehpur sikri “abandoned city”. Proceed towards Fatehpur sikri: It is a fascinating ghost city built in the 16th century, 37 km from Agra. This historic site was founded by Akbar the great, who at 26 years did not have an heir. He went to a saint, Shaikh Salim Chishti who lived in a city called Sikri. His blessing gave Akbar 3 sons. As a gesture, Akbar built a whole new city in Sikri. It was built between 1569 and 1585 and was intended to be the joint capital with Agra, but was soon deserted because the water system could not support any residents. It remained untouched for over 400 years now and its palaces are a remainder of the extravagance of the Mughals. Upon arrival in Agra, check in at the hotel. Overnight at the Hotel.
Breakfast in the hotel, later drive to Agra – The City of Taj. Upon arrival visit Taj Mahal. The Taj Mahal is the eternal of love, built in white marble by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan for his Emperor Mumtaz Mahal. The Taj Mahal reigns supreme as one of the most recognizable and iconic images of India. Its delicate minarets, gracefully curved arches and domes have led many to make the pilgrimage to stand at its entrance and wonder at its grandeur. The wonder isn’t only found in its construction. Here stands a building that is as rich in history as it is in opulent marble. *** Taj Mahal closed on Friday (The visit to Taj Mahal will be adjusted in case the day of visit falls on Friday) Also visit Agra fort & continue your drive to Delhi. Upon arrival in Delhi, check in at the hotel. Overnight at the Hotel.
